Here’s every Breaking Bad character set to appear in season 5 of the Better Call Saul. When the Bob Odenkirk spinoff first emerged, smartly Better Call Saul declined to be too transparent about his role as a black prequel, the title character, and Mike Ehrmantraut from Jonathan Banks being the only two big repatriates with less prominent characters.
Better Call Saul has now been announced to end in two more seasons, and the connection with Breaking Bad is extreme. After his brother’s death, Jimmy McGill was virtually completed by the end of season 4, and any aspirations once held for being an honest, successful legal practitioner have evaporated. Otherwise, Gustavo Fring’s meth empire starts cooking, with the first time the subterranean super-lab was set up in season 4 that was the primary setting for Breaking Bad. As Better Call Saul goes into his fifth season, here are all the characters of Breaking Bad who will appear.
Breaking Bad Characters Who Will Make Their Debut In Better Call Saul Season 5
#1. Dean Norris as Hank Schrader
The significant return in season 5 of Better Call Saul is undoubtedly Hank Schrader of the DEA. The growth of Gus’ operations makes Hank a perfect addition to Better Call Saul’s final seasons, Walter White’s brother-in-law and the constant thorn in Albuquerque’s drug industry. Hank was always one step behind Walt in Breaking Bad, and it’ll be fun to see him bust more successfully in prequels nongenius criminals. Breaking Bad saw several defeats and reversals in Hank until his eventual death. Still, Better Call Saul can bring the character to the brash Hank from early episodes, trusting and unflattering.
#2. Steven Michael Quezada as Steven Gomez
Of course, in Better Call Saul season 5, Hank will join his always-present DEA partner, Steven “Gomie” Gomez. A relatively secondary (although fan-favored) character in Breaking Bad, the spinoff series would give Gomez more specificity to smash his potential death along with Hank. As more suspects emerge in Better Call Saul, the classic Buddy Cop dynamic of Hank and Gomie would seem to counter that.
#3. Robert Forster as Ed Galbraith
Forster returned to the 2019 El Camino film Breaking Bad story, but the actor died tragically just as the film was released. AMC has since announced the posthumous role of Galbraith in Better Call Saul season 5. Given Ed’s role in vanishing men, he will probably represent the upcoming schedule of Better Call Saul after Breaking Bad that will allow Saul to become hopefully remembered. Instead, audiences might see other characters using Ed’s services via Better Call, which would clarify their absence at Breaking Bad, or the spinoff might describe precisely how Jimmy and Ed first get to know each other.
Breaking Bad Characters Who Will Return In Better Call Saul Season 5
#1. Bob Odenkirk as Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman/Gene
As the main character, Bob Odenkirk will go back in Season 5 of Better Call, both in the past and in the future.
#2. Jonathan Banks as Mike Ehrmantraut
Better Call Saul’s story is as much like Mike’s Jimmy’s story, and for season 5, the hired gun with a heart is back.
#3. Giancarlo Esposito as Gustavo Fring
Esposito is an evil person ahead of 2020 with The Mandalorian and The Boys, which he is reported as a critical figure in Better Call Saul season 5. Fring’s meth company starts taking shape by tightening the chicken man’s hold on the state narcotics trade.
#4. Lavell Crawford as Huell Babineaux
Better Call Saul did an excellent job for the already iconic Huell, and official pictures confirm that Lavell Crawford has returned to season five, apparently helping Jimmy to do a wilder job.
Mark Margolis as Hector Salamanca, Laura Fraser as Lydia Rodarte-Quayle, and David Costabile as Gale Boetticher will also be back in Better Call Saul Season 5.
